A great and beautiful spot to find nature without going too far from the city. On many occasions I have seen deer, coyotes, fish, and lots of birds and rabbits. However, this is a hot spot for deer legged ticks which can carry Lyme disease. Every time you go through the rouge, especially off trail, remember to check your entire body for ticks afterwards. I would not reccomend bringing dogs through because it will be much harder to spot the ticks.
This part of the Rouge is a beautiful part, you have nice trails and might get lucky to see the train go by. My son and his friends liked seeing it ! its not far walk but it makes you feel like your up north for a bit. its great for alone time or with the family, dogs are welcome too.
I photographed an engagement session here recently, and the trail is absolutely beautiful. Took us about an hour to get all the way around. Word of warning- if you're going in the summer months bring bug spray because we got EATEN ALIVE!!!
One of my favourite parks to visit in Toronto. I particularly enjoy the ridge trail. However, my dog got ticks and got sick after a visit last summer. We haven't been back since.
Beautiful spot! I was already coming to the zoo so left a little early to check this spot that's right across from the zoo out. Definitely worth the short hike for spectacular views, you can even catch the CN rail train going through the hills as I did today. Also seemed to be a great spot to capture birds and different types of wildlife that were in and around the hills.
