Beautiful location with many boats. The course could be more organized with better instruction.
This place is awesome! The members are friendly and helpful. There are social events, club racing (if you're into that), and group events. There is a good member mix of sail, power and paddlecraft.
It is a "self-help" type of club where members must contribute work hours (currently 20 hours a year) for general betterment and cost reduction. Jobs include lawn cutting, general construction, Officer of the Day, maintenance of the club boats, supporting social events, sailing school assistants etc. This keeps the membership costs ridiculously low for 7/24/365 access to the lake and club facilities.
Member boats are stored on their trailers and must be launched from the club ramp each day. The club runs free lessons on how to launch your boat, if you are new to boating.
Included in the membership is a Boating Federation pass that allows you to drive down Brimley Road South, even when the police are turning people back at the top of the hill on busy weekends. BONUS!
Had a free trial for sailing. Came with a BBQ lunch. We got to try steering the sailboat and pull strings. Beautiful location, however, there are many flies near the edge of the water. That is to be expected anyway. Friendly sailors.
Everyone is nice, sweet, also easy to talk to. The sailing classes are great with amazing teachers. Fully joining today!
Nice folks, great location and excellent sailing courses. I highly recommend this club if you ever thought about learning to sail. The staff really care and all have a passion for sailing which you can see right away.
