Church's Texas Chicken formerly Church's Chicken

We love Church's for their variety of sides including their bombers (jalapeño poppers).

Particularly this branch has great customer service. A guy tried to purchase something with a fake $100. The guy working the register didn't embarrass him or scold him, but politely denied the counterfeit bill and explained how he knew it was fake. He also understood that maybe the customer himself didn't realize it. Nonetheless the customer service was incredible in what was a compex situation.

Needed to try to compare to Popeyes. The classic chicken sandwich didn't have much crisp to it and was underwhelming in flavor. Biscuits we thought were better than Popeyes. Rather than just buttery flavor, they were extra fluffy and the honey top was a yummy touch. The Jalapeno poppers were a tad spicier then expected but we're actually good , super crispy on the outside and do pop when you bite into them. All in all might go back to try the fried chicken one day but would probably stick with Popeyes.

Got two sandwich combos for just around $20. Sandwich was good but the biscuits were amazing.

I was in the area and saw a new restaurant of Church’s Chicken in Jane Park plaza.
Tried their sandwich and tenders combos. Spicy tenders were delicious. Tax supreme sandwich was also very tasty (fillet in the sandwich was fresh). Biscuit and sandwich were much much better than Popeyes.

Positives - Chicken pieces were large and the serving size of fries was generous (see negatives). Price was in line with Popeye's. Honey biscuits were an interesting change.

Negatives - Fries are nothing to write home about. Look and taste like frozen McCain's crinkle cut. They were soggy, although that tends to be the nature of takeout fries!

Service was a 2 - I ordered 2 of the 4 piece combos, each 1/2 spicy and 1/2 regular. I noticed she rung the order up as 1 spicy and 1 regular. I specified to please have 1/2 and 1/2 in each box because they were going to separate houses for dinner. Server said ok. Time to wait was 15 minutes, came back in 20, the order was boxed up with all the spicy in 1 and all the reg in the other. I explained again what I needed, she responded that that is how it was. Thankfully the manager was nearby, he overheard and understood and came to rectify the issue, which was nice. I also had to ask for my drink cups and when the food was opened at home(s), one meal was missing the biscuit.

Overall, I would have Church's again if I were in the area, but certainly wouldn't go out of my way.
