Honest Weight

Been there a few times for fresh seafood and prepared dishes as well. Last week picked up some clam chowder that was amazing. Cool staff that is both professional and friendly.

Best boutique seafood spot in the city. Oysters are killer and service is brilliant.

Have been here once precovid and now during the pandemic. Always the freshest seafood. Today I had their fried scallops sandwich and it had like 4-5 massive juicy ones. I was worried the buns would overpower the scallops but boy was I wrong. Their flavours are always incredible too in their cooking (be it dressings, sauces, seasonings, you name it). Pricey BUT worth the money. These guys are great and they source all their fish ethically.

As with most, I was drawn to Honest Weight by the late great John Bil who told me about his plans for the restaurant while shucking oysters at a party many years ago. My visits to the restaurant both before and after his passing have always been excellent. I regularly pick up oysters from the restaurant and did so recently during the limited opening during covid. They are consistently the best oysters I can find anywhere in the city. I can't wait until we can all enjoy dining in at this restaurant again.
