Amazing experience with this store. Paul and Leo were both very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Provided lots of advice and tips on installing flooring, were super understanding and helpful with ordering, pickup and returning of extra boxes. Would definitely come here again for any floor needs.
pleasant staff. Got a decent deal based on recommendation. Would give 5 stars but they said go ahead and e-mail us if you need anything (or call), and they never replied to that e-mail... I ended up not needing anything anyway, but if you don't answer e-mails, say you don't answer e-mails.
This is the second time I have dealt with this particular store. A measure of a good business isn't just when things go right, it is also when they go wrong. I purchased almost 40 cases of flooring for a contractor to install. The contractor noticed manufacturer defects in some cases so 13 were returned. Leo and Paul were very cooperative and helpful in exchanging the defective cases and getting more when the store stocks ran out. I appreciated the effort since the new cases had to come from other stores in Southern Ontario. Well done!
I bought my black sands oak laminate here and needed some more later on so drove to the Windsor store for what was left since it was discontinued.
issues -
black sands scratches very easy for some reason. I wasted a lot just trying to find good pieces and the top pieces usually had some kind of a mark. I would say that's why they no longer make it. The wear rating is high yet you can't even drop a empty soda can on it without leaving a mark.
a couple of boxes had severe damage and were almost a complete loss.
the windsor store kept one box that they could have easily given to me. What did they do with one box of black sands?. Also since my one severely damaged box was from their store that should of been mine anyways. I found thay pretty insulting especially after buying so much and driving that far.
other lessons learned laying laminate.
I should of picked a better underlay but the yellow stuff does the trick I suppose. Next time i'm upgrading though.
The Norge laminate cutter is no good. Even with the proper bracing is snaps boards and damages them. It also started cutting all crooked. I went back to my table saw, miter saw with diablo blade. I also used a jigsaw. It did work sort of ok in the beginning and it can make quick work of a big room so that's a plus but if you want nice clean cuts use a saw.
Lessons learned I guess.
