Working with Andrea has been a game changer for me. I developed digestive issues out of nowhere and had no understanding of how it could get better. Over a 6 month time frame, Andrea helped me figure out food triggers and a plan that could work for my body (Low FODMAP). I don't like cooking but Andrea was kind and innovative and she gave me lots of recipes that were easy and taste great. Her website/blog is a great 'go to' to get ideas as well.
Andrea was very focused on my issues, and provided very helpful advice on how to overcome them.
I worked with Andrea for 3-4 months attempting in an effort to figure out some stomach issues that had been bothering me for years. We ended up deciding to go with the low FODMAP diet, and she was extremely helpful in coming up with a bunch of recipes and snack ideas so that my diet wasn't anywhere near as restrictive as I expected it to be. She was readily available whenever I had questions, and at the end of the diet I had identified a few trigger foods, and generally I feel better than I have in quite some time.
I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic by my doctor and given very little direction on how to avoid becoming full blown diabetic and different things I could with my diet to help avoid spiking blood sugars. That's where Dietetic Directions (specifically Andrea) came in. The appointment was easy to book and we wasted no time establishing a plan on how to eat and snack strategically to prevent blood sugar spikes. She also helped me with identifying supplements that would help to improve my overall health and blood sugar sensitivity. Andrea also reviewed my lab test results including blood work and reached out to other experts for perspective and opinions. The follow-up appointment was just as good (if not better) and I was delighted to hear that she had done further research and had even more refined long-term strategies that I could easily understand and use to my advantage. Thanks to Andrea I now feel like I have my blood sugars and diet under control with the strategies and empowerment I need to make informed diet decisions long-term.
I was exceptionally lucky to have Chelsea Cross as my RD at Dietetic Directions. Chelsea is a no-nonsense, straightforward, pragmatic, thoughtful professional. I was working though being a newly diagnosed celiac at 44 years old. Chelsea listened and while being empathetic to my individual situation, did not let me dwell on my diagnosis pushing for a practical science-based plan to keep me active and mentally healthy. The diagnosis and all the complications that come with internal issues took a toll on me physically and emotionally - more so than I thought it would. Chelsea has a true passion for finding a solution and looking at a patient individually - which means a ton when you’re on the receiving end.
I highly recommend Chelsea to anyone who is active, fighting their own fight and looking for someone in their corner. Thank you Chelsea! Your work with me has meant a lot and kept me moving forward. You're a true professional and anyone would be lucky to have you in their corner as well.
