Meat casserole dish was quite good. Haven't come across another restaurant nearby with similar dishes. Dumplings were mediocre, not enough meat filling and it didn't taste as fresh as I expected.
Customer service is subpar. My friend and I were seated in the middle and carrying lots of things. There was an empty booth in the back and we requested to sit there but the lady refused, saying they were "busy". Well there were a bunch of other couples in the booths and lots of empty seats in the store.. Finally after asking another employee we were seated there and she kept glaring at my friend. Talk about rude.
I’ve only tried the pork and the beef steamed bobo and it was amazing. It pairs super well with the soy sauce and spicy chilli oil they they keep at the tables. Side note: the water had a weird plastic-y taste (probably from the reusable plastic bottles they keep it in) so I will probably just wait until I get home to drink some next time...
They have tons of unique dishes that you can't get at other Chinese restaurants. Good buns and dumplings too. Gets crowded during dinner time but a convenient location beside Second Cup. Watermelon juice is also a nice refreshing drink!
Best and authentic casserole restaurant in Waterloo. The portion is really good and with great price. I also tried some of the steamed food and they are pretty good comparing to other steamed food in Waterloo. Overall a good experience.
