Music Together of Kitchener-Waterloo

This program and Jodie specifically have changed the way that our family truly understands music from a developing child's perspective. There are so many benefits of this program:
1. The music is purposeful. It's not just your standard kids music that's sung while kids run around listening to it. It's structured in a way that helps a child's mind grow, learning rhythm, tone, and impulse control. Another perk is that it's kids music that the adults in the room aren't completely annoyed with.
2. JODIE is AMAZING. She's so energetic and engages with every single child individually, by name and caters to the way they're learning and understanding what they're hearing. Our daughter loves Jodie, especially when she brings her guitar out.
3. We get music books for each session that have become a staple in our house. Each one is different, includes music that's familiar in one shape or another as well as music that I've never heard of before, likely because it was created by the programs creator.
4. Our daughter engages with the other kids in the class (somewhat modified due to Covid but Jodie does her best to still optimize the experience) which is great for her socialization. They all have the music in common which is great for then and great for us as parents.

I highly recommend this program to any new parents looking to engage their child in something highly meaningful from a very young age.

My family has been attending music together for 4 years. It is so much more then just music instruction. Jodie brings so much passion and care into creating a safe space for parents to connect with their kids and other families. When my children and I enter Jodie’s classroom our worries are left at the door and music, dance and play fill our hearts with joy. There is never any judgement and we are celebrated and encouraged for being who we are as music makers. She inspires us to bring music into our everyday lives and models for us the power of music to connect with our children. I am forever grateful for the opportunities that KW Music Together has given our family.

Our family has been going to Music Together classes for over three years at this point and have loved every minute of it! The curriculum is sound, the teachers are amazing at improvising and meeting each child where they are at. Both my 4-year-old and 18 month old LOVE going. If I'm honest, it's also a highlight of my week. It gives me the chance to get in some (light) exercise while having fun with my kids. It's really fun to see them take home what they're learning and to watch them experiment with music in ways that they otherwise would not have. Jodie, the head honcho, is always friendly and fabulous and responds quickly whenever required (we had a weird situation with enrollment and I needed assistance) and Taryn (our class' teacher) meets my shy 4-year-old where she's at and knows when to encourage (push ;)) her and when to let her sit back and watch. I would (and have!) recommend Music Together KW to pretty much everyone without a second thought. Thanks for everything that you bring to our community!

Love love LOVE Music Together. We have spent hours with Sarah singing and my toddlers thrive because of this (added bonus, it helps my mental health too)! The musical collections are fantastic and a great way to make home life more enjoyable. We listen to these songs and sing them everywhere! I highly recommend showing up to dance and sing your heart out, your children (and soul) will thank you! ~Happy because I sing~

We absolutely love the Music Together classes! We've been going since my son was 18 months old and he still loves it at 5. My youngest child has been going since she was 3 weeks old. And the best part, I enjoy it too! Very highly recommended.
