Just for Kids YMCA Child Care

All my girls went to this daycare, excellent staff, clean place, good food and great activities
my daughter is learning so much, she comes home every day singing either new song or say new word
staff are so kind with her, she tries to put her sisters to sleep as her teacher does and it’s so kind to see their influence on her .

Our time at Just for Kids has been wonderful. The staff were so welcoming from the get-go and our kids took to the new environment almost instantly. It’s as if we had been part of the Just for Kids group for years, not just a few weeks. As parents, we have become big believers in YMCA childcare, as we see the excellence and passion in the entire staff. When our preschooler fell one morning playing outside and got a major gash on her forehead the staff acted quickly and efficiently, kept our daughter (and her mom!) calm but ensured that the highest level of first aid and care was met. Cynthia followed up that afternoon with a phone call to check in and all of the staff were caring and checked on her when our other daughter was picked up. It was clear to us that the staff were well trained and practiced in handling first aid emergencies and we have incredible confidence knowing these are the people caring for our children. But perhaps more than the ‘big’ incidence, the evidence of the level of passion come from all the day-in, day-out care. The staff clearly develop great relationships with all the children, get to know them and the families as individuals and take joy in finding creative ways to help them develop. On their own time, they come up with themed play ideas, put things together and go above in the learning activities they create. Even in our few weeks the examples of this are too many to name. But some of our favourites are the ice-cream themed play the preschoolers been doing (including building and colouring a stand, painting cones, and – lucky kids – a special afternoon treat one Friday) and the animal themed learning for the toddlers (including collecting pictures of their pets and printing them on a board at the centre, and going for walks in the park to find – and name – their duck friends). The best evidence is this: when us parents show up at the end of the day to take them home, they do not want to leave. All this considered, we are very thankful to be apart of the Y family and could not be happier with the care our kids get!

This YMCA child care center is our home away from home. Our son has been enrolled for almost two years now and we have had nothing but great experiences. The care givers are amazing and truly care for each child. We know our son is in great hands once we drop him off and that’s the best feeling a parent can have.

Fantastic daycare! The staff all care deeply about the development, well-being and socialization of the kids in their care. Also a transparent and communicative supervisor who keeps the centre running smoothly.

Recently head up by new supervisors in the past few years since the poor ratings. The staff is committed to their jobs and working in their smaller than most child care facilities. Staff are friendly and care. They work very hard to keep the environment satisfying.
