My girlfriend and I were in the New Hamburg area for her highschool volleyball game. While driving home, the sky opened up and was an absolute flurry of blowing snow. I feared we would never make it home. After my girlfriend confirmed it was OK with her parents, we decided to stay the night. We stumbled upon the Cranberry House and immediately fell in love with the charm of the dilapidated century home. Owner/operator Michèle B provided a welcoming and warm atmosphere throughout our stay. Peering through the chique 1890s Venetian blinds, I caught a glimpse of Michèle brushing the snow off of my car. The way he navigated the unpredictable ice covered cobblestone driveway was admirable. After enjoying the eggs benedict (thank you to the previous reviewer for the spot on suggestion), we were on our way. If we ever return to the New Hamburg area, we hope that the Township has not condemned this building so that we may enjoy a second stay.
Michael is an excellent host. He was very attentive to my needs and makes the finest eggs benedict this side of the nith. He is a registered massage therapist in his off hours and isn't afraid to really get in deep and work you out. If you can get past the rampant mouth breathing and ogre like behaviour, Michael is second to none. I hope to make a repeat visit soon.
Absolutely stunning home filled with beautiful antique furnishings and managed by always accommodating gracious hosts Terry and Roy. Sadly they've sold the home and it won't continue as a B&B. Worth all 5 stars will miss my favourite New Hamburg treasure.
Beautiful old home with gorgeous antique furnishings. If you love heritage homes and antiques, this is the place to stay. Owners are very knowledgeableable about antiques etc as well.
