Awesome way to explore Elora. The audio tour is top notch. We learned a lot of neat things about the area we never knew and we've been there many times. The bkes are also really cool looking and we got complimented a few times on them. Highly recommend.
The check-in and return were simple, fast and efficient. Based on availability, there are bottom and bottomless tubes. I went for one with a bottom for greater comfort and so that my arse wouldn't be in constant contact with cold water. The rental tubes at GRCA did not appear to have bottoms.
Owner was very friendly and helpful in providing information about the equipment and the river, as it was our first time there. He advised you can skip the faster rapids at the top, which made the kids feel safe to try it and they had a blast. Also they have rafts with solid bottoms (no hole) which the park didn't - the river has a lot of rocks so you can bump a tailbone easily in a regular oval tube. We did it again the next day!
Showed up 20 mins early. So went fit a walk down the street. Did not have a warm welcome, more of an assembly line greeting, however it was quick and painless. Life jackets had an odor. We used mostly closed bottom tubes with our group of 5. The 15 min walk would be a speed walker. Gee certainly took us longer, but doable. Wore water shoes for the first walk, changed into running shoes and that kept my feet in less pain. River is fantastic. We really enjoyed it. I think next time we would just rent at the at the park, as their equipment was right there, and seemed easier and also cheaper per person. Enough for a big Mac meal. Having said that I did see people with their own tubes too. The park staff were helpful and it was a very fun day.
