I worked here 2 times over a period of years.. I started in 2015 and worked here for a few years then left and came back and worked here for another 2 years and a bit going back to school because general labour isn't something I can personally call sustainable not long term hard on the body mind and the soul. Because I needed a job...money is a necessity obviously! I reached out to the plant manager who in my opinion is a a solid dude if you work hard respect is earned. They offered me my position back with a good rise in pay with some negotiating. Honestly not a bad position especially if you need a decent fulltime job . The people are also great most of them if you get to know them like to laugh and are pretty fun throughout. atmosphere is and can be uplifting depending on the people your surrounded with and the work you do. I had many good days here and miss the people the work is usually pretty steady but can be up and down especially during covid. They provide their employees access to company paid PPE and offer many perks such as decent benefits, company matched RRSP and voucher for safety boots yearly. They are understanding most days and over all it was a good experience working here. Pay is pretty good, tricky because depends on your experience, personal relationships and credentials as well as position. Time off situation can get a little manipulative and they don't allow people to take time off unless its booked through their app as well as unless you have those days saved up which felt a little like communism and a setup most people hated that. If you go through the correct channels you will quickly see how to carve yourself a position here however like most companies it can be hard to be heard when it comes to review and raise time so don't hold your breath you will go blue ... they take some poking and nudging to get any sort of employee reviews they're not very regimented on yearly reviews and its a little upsetting especially if you give your all and get nothing in return perk wise in a timely manner. Melitron has been good to me and I did have a great time most of the time they continue to be a great company with great employees and a solid working experience for hands on everyday blue collar folks I do recommend this as a good company to get some experience but not sustainable but let's be honest most "JOBS" aren't. If you want true satisfaction get a career thats the only way .....
