Great park in a great neighbourhood #wardlifeforever
NEW look.
This park recently got a renovation - making it prettier, with a new playground equipment and a nice walking track, and landscaping.
It used to have a wading pool but this was removed during the renovation.
The neighbourhood used to be a very family area - where many of the homes had children, but that is no longer the case. The number of young children in the ward is very small.
I am not sure why they chose to make this park a kids park, because in 11 years of living very close to the park - I hardly ever see kids in this park.
The majority of people who use this park are dog walkers/dog owners.
They should have made it a dog park. There are MANY dog families in the area.
It is a beautifully renovated park - I just dont think the audience they designed it for really exists in the area any more.
Great new layout and playground
Fun place for kids, but it is under construction at the moment
My first 4 years of life we're spent mostly in this park as our house backed onto it. I was told that back in the late 90s my father took it upon himself to take care of the wading pool as the city didn't do a good job if any then. He would clean out the loose debris like leaves and twigs. He would also add the sanitizing chemicals each time the pool was filled up. At the time the neighbourhood was working class and it wasn't really paid much attention to by the city.
