Calmwaters Fly Fishing

My husband and I spent an afternoon learning to fly fish in Paris, ON with Jeff. Our lesson was part of our 30-year anniversary get-away. Big dreams of Paris, France were quashed by COVID, but that day on the river was so lovely that we forgot about world travels and were thrilled to be tucked away on the river in this beautiful Ontario town. I booked our lesson primarily for my husband, but Jeff's enthusiasm and encouragement made us both fall in love with fly fishing. We can't wait to go again. Had an incredible lesson with Jeff on the grand river. I had never touched a fly rod before and he had me casting in no time, his love of the sport really came through as he taught. If you are looking to get into flyfishing but feel a little overwhelmed I would definitely recommend booking with Calmwaters.

Jeff had me casting after just a couple of hours of practice and I was able to enjoy fishing for the rest of the day. I had such a great experience I've now come back to fish with him 6 more times in 3 different rivers. It's always a pleasure to spend the day casting, wading and learning from Jeff. Jeff is an excellent and informative guide. As a novice to fly fishing, I found each outing was a great learning experience, covering equipment, technique, and how to read the river. I would highly recommend an outing with Jeff for anyone looking to learn or improve at fly fishing.

Amazing experience! Jeff was quick to respond to all of my questions and help set up my day on the river. Alyx was a wonderful guide who provided just the right amount of encouragement mixed with humour. She made me feel confident and comfortable.
