If you love old historic homes, that's the place to go to! Very beautifully crafted and designed wood inside and intruiging story on it's history.
Visited in Aug this year. Some renovations going on in house. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about history of house which made the tour worthwhile. There was not a fee to enter because of Reno’s going on donation only
We didn't know what to expect from the tour, but we really loved the look of the building and thought it was worth checking out. We got a tour from Hannah and she was such a great guide -- she had so much interesting info about the history and architecture of the house, as well as being super enthusiastic and engaging (we particularly liked the guessing games for all of the old gadgets in the house). If you have 30-40 minutes to spare, I highly recommend checking it out.
A wonderful character-filled home. Even though they were under renovation, it was still very interesting to see the interior of this beautiful home. Our guide, Hannah, was very knowledgeable and gave an enjoyable tour. And there was a tea happening as well with amazing treats! A great piece of Island history - highly recommended!
A historic house full of information on different families, different events, tragic events, beautiful architecture, maintained well by the museum staff, visited on a Friday, tours go on every 30 minutes, there no set fee it was discretionary donation, after the tour lovely tea and treats were being sold, it was a lovely treat to enjoy in the garden
