We visited the original COWS Creamery, as we were intrigued by the self guided tour- it was interesting but not worth the visit. They had tons of merchandise for sale and freshly made waffle cones with all seasonal flavours. They only have 2 options for dairy free flavours (mango sorbet and pei strawberry sorbet). The sorbets definitely lack flavour; COWS isn’t the place to come for dairy free ice cream options unless you’re desperate (as expected).
They have a self guided tour area where you can see where they make the ice cream, store the cheese they made, and a large area where they print t-shirts. There is a large circular machine that prints all the colors on the shirts. It's fascinating to watch it print a different color at each station around the circular machine. They also sell souvenirs and ice cream there.
Holy Cow!! Their ice cream is amazing, in my one week stay, I tried it three times, three different flavours, mowie Cowie, white chocolate w/raspberry and blueberry, my fave was the mowie, all staff were were friendly and ready to help of the floor with sizing, on my third visit, I realized after they have a self tour of the establishment, great information on the business. The first I visited was on a weekday was not busy at all, the third time it was a Friday and was busy but line up moved fairly quick! Picnic tables outside to enjoy your ice-cream, a must try when visiting the island
The Missus and I, the boys and two family renegades visited the Cows Creamery in Charlottetown during our Maritimes' travels. We had visited Cows in Whistler BC many times previously so it was a moo-ving experience for us to be in the home province of Cows. We raise a hoof!
The ice cream was No. 1 and delicious as usual. The store offered other merchandise including clothing, cheese, chocolates, souvenirs and more ice cream that you can take away. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a self guided moo-seum that was very informative of Cows' history and products available.
A "thumbs up" for a must visit to this location. We just had to visit Cows in Halifax before flying home. Hoping to see more outlets in BC.
Had an absolute blast here! All the merch they had were so cute! We spent over $250 buying shirts, pants, magnets, and sweatshirts and had to control ourselves. We had the Messie Bessie ice cream - it was so rich and creamy and not too sweet. It was chocolate flavored, had pieces of caramel and chocolate cookie chunks. Very tasty. Would definitely come back here if given the chance. Highly recommend it to anyone who's in the area!
