What an amazing way to spend two weeks in PEI. My family and I booked the Trout River Retreat about a year in advance as we knew the area was popular. The description of "glamping" was right up our alley. My husband loves camping and well I enjoy cottaging! This was the perfect blend for us. It was spacious, very clean and fully stocked with all of our vacationing needs. The river is a gorgeous spot and it was close enough to everything that we wanted to do and see. The cottage was very cozy and we felt right at home from the moment we stepped foot in it. I have two kids (6 and 2) and both loved sharing a room together and the large open grass area. They had a lot of extras like fishing gear, canoe, board games, soccer balls, books etc. which was a really nice touch.
The indoor fireplace was a nice treat on those cooler mornings and we made use of that a few times in our two week stay.
The owners are both so responsive and accommodating. We had a great experience from booking to check out. We even forgot one of our kid's sweatshirts and they so graciously mailed it to us.
We would highly recommend booking at the Trout River retreat and if we ever venture back to PEI we will be doing just that! We have already recommended it to a few other friends and they too are hoping to book in the coming years.
The remote yet close to most things is a unique find and a great way to spend your time while on the island! You won't be disappointed :)
Hello, we had an unforgettable stay. What a surprise when we arrived to discover this chalet-house so well decorated and peaceful. Everything to charm us. An exceptional week with view and access to the river. All amenities were there and we took full advantage of them. Enchanting decor surrounded by trees and isolated from neighbors. Fire in the evening outside and coffee in the morning on the balcony overlooking our rooms...
We did not expect such a warm welcome. Our happy hour was already ready when we arrived. All attractions were relatively close.....like North Rustico and Cavendish, restaurants, shops and amusement parks. We definitely plan to return there. It was one of our best vacations.

We loved staying here. It’s in a really picturesque area and the river is great for canoeing. The cottage itself has a nice modern feel while still being very cozy. Overall, an excellent experience.
Every good
