Lorie and Jay always go above and beyond to care for the horses. My fiances horse needed specialized care after recovering from a spinal injury, They put in so much time into making sure her needs were met. The community is warm and inviting, and the horses look happy.
This is the #1 place on PEI that I recommend for horse boarding. A beautiful property and an amazing family. They are beyond committed to the horses brought to their property. Every horse is cared for individually, they get everything they need and much more.
Lorie and Jay cared for our horses for several months, until we could get them to our new home. The time we (and our horses) spent on their farm was amazing, we've watched both L&J work tirelessly to care for all the animals on their property from very early to very late everyday.... They love what they do and are incredible at it. We were extremely fortunate to find them when we needed horse care.
Absolutely love this place, the owners live on property, a nice private feel with the feeling of belonging to a family.
Outdoor arena, access to lots of trail hacking great paddock set up.
I have had the pleasure of keeping my mare, Samar, at Foxrun Acres! Samar requires intensive, special care due to the neurological issues she has and I initially moved her due to close proximity to the AVC. Lorie and Jay exceeded my expectations by making incredible accommodations to ensure Samar would thrive, and provided meticulous care for my mare. The result of Lorie and Jay's dedication to their craft EXUDES in my mare, she has gained much needed weight and has improved by a neuro score of 1.
Foxrun acres provides daily turn out with ad libitum hay, and grains twice a day with supplements that I provide. This level of care is not common on the island. It's a relief to know my horse is receiving the exceptional care because as a vet student with a busy schedule, it's one less thing I need to worry about.
They have plenty of amenities, including a large outdoor arena, trails, and a round pen. I used the round pen frequently when I began rehabbing my horse and the size was perfect for starting her back in the saddle again. The large riding arena has been amazing to ride with friends, and allows everyone from every discipline to practice their craft without feeling like you're getting in the way on other riders!
Lorie and Jay created such a warm and welcoming environment at Foxrun; the many laughs, cuddles with the barn cats, and engaging with other boarders and their family-- you will find that time passes by quickly!
I boarded my horse here for a few months and had a great experience. The only reason I'm not there now is because I sold my mare. They are all about the health and safety of your horse, so I could relax when I wasn't there. I met a few borders who were just as kind as the owners. The stables are beautiful and we'll maintained. My horse and I had the best experience all around.
