Super nice place to receive a large family! We stayed here over the Easter long weekend. 2nd time in 4 years and we will definitely go back.
On the ground floor, two small living rooms, a storage room with a glazed space for a chess table, a large dining room, a good kitchen area with everything you need to make a feast!
The upper floors; the 1st floor has 4 bedrooms and the 2nd floor has 2 bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom!!
Downstairs TV, sound system, bookcases, board game library. Wifi available and functional.
Outside, electric vehicle charging station.
There is also a fire spot.
On the edge of the river, very nice view. 30 seconds by car from the "Tête d'alumettes" microbrewery.
Everything was perfect!! We were a group of 10 adults and 3 children and everyone found something to their liking. Whether it's just to relax, for hiking in the surroundings starting directly from the inn or just to have fun with one of the many board games available on site, everything is there. The kitchen is more than complete, the bedrooms each have a private toilet with at least one shower, the windows allow us to have an incredible view of the river, etc... Paul and his wife live a few steps from the hostel, far from being intrusive but always available to meet your needs.
I highly recommend.
P.S. If you go to the area, don't miss the chance to have a good beer at La Tête d'Allumette microbrewery less than 5 minutes from the hostel.
Thank you Paul for welcoming us to your beautiful hostel. We were there with friends for the Québec games of Rivière-Du-Loup for our daughters.
Your hostel is beautiful, clean, really well appointed and maintained.
We had a memorable stay there.
A favorite!!!
THANKS!!
Superb large 3-storey house, maintained with care. View of the river, beautiful gallery and swings. Spacious and comfortable rooms. The creaking floors are part of the charm of this period house, with planked floors, walls and ceilings, the same as the original. They no longer do breakfasts since this year (2019), but we have access to the kitchen, and a restaurant (Le Racoin) located 1 km away serves dinners and lunches.
I stop at the Auberge des Aboitaux every year and I love this place. It really is the countryside here. The house has so much charm, the hosts are very kind. The decoration is simple but elegant and the view of the river is magnificent even if you are not too close. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and the lunch is delicious.
