NATURE Auberge & Spa

I conducted a 2-day driving excursion moving from Halifax back to Ontario, I knew I would have to stay somewhere in Quebec on my way, and I sought to avoid the poor experience I had previously had in Degelis.

NATURE from a quick scan on google maps not only provided the cheapest solution to having to stay somewhere overnight, it also provided me with an interesting driving route compared to the usual major highways that did not involve dipping down into the US.

This was an amazing experience.

Previously my experience of driving through Quebec had almost always exclusively been negative and for good reason, (I dipped into Montreal proper for lunch the next day and that was maybe the biggest mistake of my life), the scenery in and around Pohénégamook is picturesque, fields of green grass and hills of lush forestry reminded me of the greenery in Cork, Ireland. I was marvelled at this natural treasure that Canada had kept so well hidden.

The Auberge is situated on a dirt road that shares its location with the houses of the locals that live on the shore of the Pohenegamook lake, the location does not have a traditional pavement parking lot but is more simply a large field with many spaces.

When I went in, I met the owner and what can I say other than that she is an incredibly kind soul, extremely accomodating and helpful to a simple traveller such as myself. She pointed me to where I could go for a nice dinner before retiring for the night, and the recommendation was spectacular.

The rooms were clean with nice furnishings and light fixtures, their is a fantastic A/C unit making the experience very personalized which is essential to staying somewhere away from home. In the morning there was a simple breakfast prepared that I was able to take parts of for the road.

Unfotunately I cannot attest to any of the Spa amenities, however, it is my recommendation that if you want to see a unique part of the country untouched by the urban sprawl, and you happen to find yourself driving from east to west or vice-versa, consider stopping here for a night and enjoy the splendours of NATURE and Pohénégamook which showcase the best of Quebec.

Nice place with relaxing spa area. Spa, sauna and cold water bath will get you relaxed and the staff is nice to customers. Cold breakfast is provided with your stay.

Great place to stay!!! Nature Auberge & Spa is the perfect place to enjoy nature and relax. Very nice rooms that are extremely comfortable. This place is so beautiful, clean, and has a breathtaking view right next to the lake. While staying you can enjoy an amazing view from the porch or relax in the hot tub and sauna. The host is very friendly and hospitable. If you’re looking for a home away from home this is the place.

Really awesome stay! Most strongly recommend. Had a great room, extremely comfortable. The owner is a really good guy. We arrived on snowmobile and the owner offered his car to drive to the local brew pub. The hot tub and sauna were much appreciated.

It was a great place to stay. The owner was awesome. He's the type of person that would take his shirt off his back for you.
My dad i I rolled in on our motorcycles and he made sure our stay was top notch. The Price point was great as well.

I Definitely recommend staying here if your in the area.
