Villa Larose

We booked the quiet lair for a week. The site and the chalet are superb and the view of the lake is incredible. It is perfect for nature lovers.

The location is ideal for access to the entire region, both to Kamouraska and Temiscouata.

It is a quiet place, but only when there is no traffic on the road. The vehicles drive really fast despite the speed limit of 50 km/h. In the morning there are always heavy trucks passing around 6am. There are also plenty of ATVs and dirt bikes cruising around and making a hell of a noise.

Our chalet lacked windows, especially upstairs where there is absolutely no air circulation. The opening portion at the top is tiny despite the huge window.

Most of the cranks are broken, the patio door screen is completely destroyed. It also looks like the patio door is falling apart. a mosquito net is missing from a window in the living room.

Everything else is there and working.

The BBQ is extremely old and we didn't have tongs or a metal spatula, luckily Bill from the general market lent me one! 5* for Bill.

As for cleanliness, it's A+, nothing more to say!

We were disappointed by the fact that the walking paths are impassable, I don't think they are maintained.

There are no paddles for the boats. There is a double kayak, but just a paddle kayak. There are two boards, but only one paddle. I didn't dare try canoeing. in short it would require a small update :)

Notice to owners: check your water inlet/hot water tank: there is water on the ground near the water heater which is flowing towards the drain.

I would have given 4*, but there is a lack of maintenance in the chalet. For the noise we are in construction holidays so I can understand that people take out four-wheelers and motorbikes, but the fact remains that the site is sold as "a quiet lair"... which is not so quiet that finally!

Gorgeous place! The lake is superb; small but very swimmable. A bank of small pebbles, no algae on the edge of the quay, etc. We rented Le Panoramique and it lives up to its name. View of the lake from the dining room, a few meters from the lake, it looks like nature wants to enter the chalet. I highly recommend if you are looking for contact with a calm and serene environment. 20 minutes from Pohénégamook without being invaded by the noise of tourists. Only somewhat "negative" comment: a dishwasher would be appreciated but it is not a priority. I hope the owners will continue to accept dogs as we would love to return. :)

We had rented the chalet "Le Panoramic"!
Can easily accommodate 8 people (3 beds + a sofa bed) it would also have room for an inflatable mattress!

(+) Well-equipped kitchen and barbecues available! We just have to bring our clothes and food.
(+) Excellent booking service! (+) Direct access to the lake with small docks perfect for fishing or enjoying the view!
(-) The photos on the site would need to be updated, because the chalet has had some change in furniture, above all.
(-) Additional towels and blankets available would be a good idea. Luckily some had brought some otherwise we would have run out.

Warm cottage. Ideal for unwinding and refueling with nature. However, it must be expected that there is no cellular network. In our case, the Internet that should be accessible at the chalet was not working and we no longer had any means of communication. This affected our stay a lot.
