We visited this forged with my sons on a rainy day in La Malbaie. The blacksmith was excellent at demystifying her work and the history of this forge. My son received a small souvenir forged for him as a bonus. The entrance fee is extremely affordable compared to the effort of the forge team in the context that they cannot lead more than one group at a time. The visit lasted about 1 hour. You can only be impressed by the resourcefulness of the Cauchon family through the generations. Ancestral know-how in its purest form.

A real forge in action, with all the tools of the time. A return to the beginning of the industrial era in Quebec. Period carpentry workshop upstairs. If you love old tools and old techniques, this is for you.

Great displays and demonstration of how a working blacksmith shop worked in the early part of the 1900's
