I visited a few years ago and had an amazing time. The content of the museum is awesome and one of my favorite aspects were the architecture and artwork. The views across the water are amazing and above all else the building itself is breathtaking. There is a great zen garden as well
We went mostly went to the Children's museum which was great. The tickets also let us into the rest of the museum. The food was good a very reasonable price wise for Museum food. They had children's meals. The parking was an issue for us as I had a cargo carrier on top of our jeep and the parking garage was too low for it. We ended up about an inch too tall and scraped the carrier up but I didn't have any other options as I could not back up once I realized we were too tall. So if you even have close to a tall vehicle you better find other parking.
It takes a good few hours to see everything, but they are hours well spent. The exhibits are well put together and provide a digestible journey through Canada's history. The first Peoples Hall and collection of Totem Poles is particularly interesting. Thoroughly recommended.
Beautiful place to visit. Located near the Rideau river. There is ferry service to go to this place as well it's fun! They have great artifacts on display. You can spend the whole day exploring different things. I personally liked the Totem display!
There is an admission fee.
