I was the driver and my friend wrote this post for me to share . A million thanks Manolo for your kindness and precious time and for being so calm in these situations. You're very knowledgeable and the garage said exactly the same thing you said to us about our car battery. We got home safely and we do plan to bring our car to you next time !

"I rarely write long posts but today was a pretty crazy day for me and my friend (TLDR at the end haha). I was in her car and we were about to go on the highway, when all the lights on the dashboard started flashing. Then she noticed that she couldn't step on the gas anymore. She immediately put on the flashers and managed to pull to the side of the road safely. Although we were close to the highway, we were in a spot that wasn't a danger to others, but obviously it was an inconvenience because we were blocking a lane.

We called her boyfriend and a few people who concluded that either the battery was dead or there was a problem with the alternator. The boyfriend was going to jump in an Uber to bring us a jump starter. In the meantime, I called CAA for information and they said it would take 60 min to get a tow truck IF there was one in the area. Either way, we had to wait. Because the battery was dead, the flashers eventually dimmed out. We stood outside to make sure the other drivers were aware that our car was broken. My brother told us to open the hood of our car to make it more obvious, so we did. We ended up waiting outside for an hour in the cold and rain. We were completely frozen by that time and clearly stressed. Not a single person stopped to ask us if we were okay. Instead, we got a bunch of angry drivers slowing down just to flip us off and to yell at us to put the flashers on.

My friend's boyfriend finally arrived and we tried to boost the battery a few times without success. The battery would die every time we unplugged the cables. Suddenly a man approached us and offered to help us push the car into the parking lot on the other side (3 lanes to the right), which is pretty crazy on Cremazie O. heading onto the highway. He said he's a towing guy but it's his day off. He tried to boost our car with his and it seemed like our car was working again, but we knew we had to bring it to the garage asap. Turns out he owns a garage in Montreal Nord, but he was aware that it wasn't the closest to us, and didn't pressure us to bring it there at all. We decided to drive to Canadian Tire which was only a few minutes away and he offered to follow us in case anything happened. Unfortunately, our car stopped 3 times on our way, and every single time he rushed down his car to boost ours without complaining. He even had a big smile the whole time and made jokes because we were clearly stressed out about having to block traffic so many times. My friend's boyfriend had to leave for a work meeting, but the good samaritan reassured us that he will go into Canadian Tire with us and explain everything to the mechanic (it's my friend's first car and I don't drive so we had no idea how to deal with this).

At the end, we wanted to give him some money to thank him for his time and kindness. He refused to accept anything, not even half. He said he served in the military for many years and he was taught to always help others in need. He even offered to give us a lift while our car was in the garage.

Honestly I don't know what we would have done without him. He made our day better and brighter. The good samaritan's name is Manolo and he owns a garage with his uncle in Montreal Nord. We don't know if he's a good mechanic, but we do know that someone who's willing to help strangers without rewards will definitely try his best to fix your car. We really don't know how to thank him, so mentioning him on social media is the least we can do. So please check him out if you guys are looking for a mechanic in that area!

TLDR; if you need a mechanic, please check this guy out. He's a good guy!

    Best of the best.
Trust me worth it on so many level.
    Forget the rest try it.
Family owned, and they are honest and best price in town.
I drive 1 hr away from lachine where there are so many garage near me and I can negotiate the price and even so its still no where close to the price and service I'm getting from koki & manolo. Take it from me I work in sales and I have experience in negotiations and I know about cars.
