Chelow BBQ - Persian Restaurant Montreal

Great food and amazing service , not much saffron on the chicken but still very good .
The only issue was that young kid on the grill , he couldn’t keep his grill hot and kept cooking meat and leave it on the side then cook same meat again …

I have never left a review before, but this place really deserves it. The owner is so friendly and the food was great! On each table there are Persian cookbooks which is a nice touch. My friend and I both had the mixed plate with beef, chicken and rice. The owner brought us an assortment of sauces (all so tasty- especially recommend the homemade hot sauce). We also shared the mirza which was excellent. After we finished, my friend and I stayed talking, the owner offered us tea on the house. When we finished that and kept talking he offered us more, we said oh no you must be closing soon. He told us that he actually closed 15 minutes before but told us not to rush, enjoy ourselves and brought us the pot of tea! You don’t get that kind of hospitality in North America… wow! Will definitely be back and 100% recommend :) I wish this place all the successes.

The owner is the nicest guy on Earth and although he was very busy he took care of us all by himself. We felt so welcome and the food was amazing. We drove 45 minutes to be there & we will definitely come back

The owner is one of the kindest and most caring owners we have seen. Went out of his way to serve us every possible way. Good job sir. And the food is amazing very tasty and well presented.

Really beautiful restaurant. The chef REALLY gives his full attention to detail, and cares a lot about quality and customer satisfaction. He loves what he does, and you can tell the food is handmade with love - Take a look at this salad for example. Quality of the food is great. Every ingredient in the salad tasted FRESH. Roasted tomatoes were sweet. They definitely don’t skimp on saffron here. Delicious flavour, and meat well-done.

The to-go dishes are also of high quality and leak-proof. My husband and I ordered 5 of their dishes. Garlic potatoes were amazing, crisp on the outside and not too salty like other places. This food is actually healthy and tastes as if it was made at home. We will definitely be coming here regularly and recommending our friends to come here too! It’s truly a hidden gem in Montreal. Wish I had known about this place sooner!
