Price range: $$ , very good value
Service: Friendly Casual
My goal: Hungry, but not looking for the fat maks drenched with mayo sauce. Wanted good fish, and to taste the fish.
What I did: Takeout of an existing menu item
My Bias: Dislike the westernized rolls full of rice and sauce. Prefers nigiri and sashimi or temaki.
Overall:
Friendly service and the takeout items I got were shockingly delicious. It was a Chef's choice menu, and I was pleasantly surprised. The nigiri were of a perfect size to enjoy in one bite, the sashimi was of a good variety and well balanced, and the roll was not the usual type.
The presentation was pleasant despite being a takeout menu.
It is a location I suggest without hesitation to friends and colleagues.
Great sushi, great service. Can tell the good was made with lots of passion.
I showed up on a Monday evening at 8:55PM, nothing nearby was open. I saw some people happily eating in the dining room and I saw they had a high rating on Google. I decided to give them a chance.
The menu looked just like any other sushi/poke place. I asked for a recommendation and they said "tuna poke". I was skeptical but decided to go ahead with their recommendation.
The chef and cashier really seemed to go above and beyond to wow all the customers present: the 3 who were eating in their dining room and 4 (including me) who were getting takeout. They happily accommodated vegetarian/vegans, regulars and newcomers alike in the 10 minutes I was there.
I ended up paying 18.40$ plus tip for the best tuna poke I ever had and I'm saying that as someone who doesn't even like tuna. The avocado was just perfect. So was the sweet wasabi sauce.
I think this is one of those places where you could just go in, get whatever the chef wants to feed you and you'll be really satisfied - the best part is that it's not a snooty chichi place so you can go back often.
Maybe the best sushi I've ever had. The chef and server were super generous with us and really seemed delighted to be whipping up their incredible creations. I can't speak highly enough of this place! Highly recommend!
I love this place. They’re super nice and everything on the menu is good and fresh, including their sauces. Its new so it’s also very clean. It’s now my go-to. Try it and you’ll love it, and them. Best of luck to the owners who survived opening amidst the start of the pandemic! Bravo :)
