Air Canada

It’s been a while since I have flown. And even longer since air Canada was my choice. I flew from Montreal to Miami through Toronto and then Miami to Montreal on my return. Montreal to Toronto was a comfortable plane with very nice staff who made sure masks were worn and rules were applied. Toronto to Montreal was a joke. Flight crew allowed travellers to wear masks around their chin and allowed people to order far more alcohol than they should have. I was disappointed and fearful for the health of my travel party. No issues from Miami to Montreal, the plane was new and had tons of leg room. Overall I felt it was good service but it’s important that covid rules be unforced **very LGBTQ friendly

Pre-pandemic Air Canada was always my first choice to fly with. I just had my first flight with them since the pandemic started and it wasn't as great as it used to be. The staff kept us in the dark for 10 hours even though the flight was during the day. We left the morning of in Egypt and were flying back to Montreal.. and it was daytime outside and the sun was out. They left us in the dark for the entire 10 hour flight.. I felt so weird and it really messed up my sleep. They could have done 5 hours in the dark and 5 hours of daylight. I feel like they did this to keep us sleeping so that they won't have to deal with us. When I was flying TO Egypt it was with Turkish Airlines and they had special staff on board who would properly sanitize and clean the plane and bathrooms periodically (it seemed to happen every hour or so) and so the bathrooms were spotless and properly stocked. I assumed Air Canada would do the same for my flight home but they didn't... the bathrooms were disgusting with sticky floors.. I think at some point someone threw up in one of the bathrooms and it wasn't properly cleaned... it was absolutely disgusting. I gave 3 stars because the overall flight itself was pretty good but leaving us in the dark for 10 hours during the day is pretty messed up as are the incredibly disgusting restrooms.
