Great experience overall - had my first baby without a doula and second baby with the support of Ayda at Rock the Cradle. what a difference it made! my first delivery left me with disappointment and a little bit of anxiety surrounding the birthing process. The second time around I knew I had the power to make things go smoother and I was looking for a different kind of moral and physical support. Ayda provided exactly that through her presence and her experience. She was very receptive to my needs and easy to reach at any given time. she was knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable from the minute I met her. If I have a 3rd baby, I will use her service without a doubt!

Really learned a lot from these prenatal classes. It was both informative and interactive. Would definitely recommend for first-time parents!

Mika is THE doula you want at your birth. She is knowledgeable, warm and a constant grounding presence. I had a very painful 50-hour-long labor and Mika accompanied my partner and I throughout the whole process, helping me cope with the pain and helping my husband cope with my distress. She helped me feel strong and instill confidence in me when I felt I could no longer do it. When it came to pushing, she was by my side, holding my hand and coaching me to breath in a very particular way that helped the labor progress efficiently. She has so many tools and resources to draw from.Two months later, we keep saying, "we don't know how we would have done it without her"
Just a text away she has given us incredible support post birth as well. Best doula ever! I recommend her without reservatoon.

We are so grateful to have had Mika’s guidance throughout our pregnancy and birth experience. We are first time parents, so having an experienced and knowledgeable person like Mika on our team allowed us to feel a lot less anxious, and a lot more empowered! Mika was the peace and patience that I needed during pregnancy, labour & delivery.
When my baby was breech, with her expertise, Mika gave me all the tools to help baby turn, while staying calm and confident that baby’s birth was going to be perfect no matter how she came. During labour, Mika was on the ball, checking in as I went through early labour at home. At the hospital she helped to keep the atmosphere calm for me. When the doctor suggested certain interventions (breaking my waters and an episiotomy), Mika helped my husband and me weigh the options and make educated decisions that were best for us. She even helped us stick to our birth plan (which I had completely forgotten about during labour), which allowed for me to feel my daughter crowning during delivery. Post-partum, Mika was reassuring as I struggled with initiating breastfeeding. She was full of resources and helped me find a lactation consultant, which was a huge help in the early days of breastfeeding. Needless to say, I can’t imagine my birth & early postnatal experience without Mika. She was a blessing to both my husband and me!
