La Chouette Virée is in covid mode, so we were able to enjoy the whole house, kitchen, etc. in "rental" mode rather than "hostel" mode as before.
Philippe is very welcoming and invites us to go around and take advantage of the many advantages of the land. We have a field day in the raspberries that grow here and there (good timing for us!) and we are invited to help ourselves to the private garden and other herbs that spread everywhere. The lettuce and beans were much appreciated and delicious!
Perhaps this is due to a reduction in staff, but a few elements left something to be desired when we arrived: moderately clean fridge that we had to rewash, and which contains so many leftovers from others or the owner, to the point that we struggled to squeeze in our food. We are against waste, that's for sure, but helping ourselves to food left before leaves us a little cold. Maybe a 2nd fridge? Half-washed stuff in the sink, several flies flying around the building. Nothing catastrophic, but we would appreciate better preparation.
The land is worth it, nice look. Very nice hammock. I took advantage of the nearby river to swim. great opportunity to cool off! But know that there is clay soil in this one, which did not bother me, my children yes. Fireplace corner and wood provided, much appreciated. Very nice garden and rural land.
This place is excellent for a short getaway in the surroundings, close enough to the activities of the area, if you are looking for a complete accommodation (it is rare). It's not perfect and has a few flaws (the shower flow is very low) but it has a lot going for it. We recommend it! To try again in hostel mode with meals perhaps? The ones on the site look delicious but this portion was not available when we were there.
Super warm!!! Everything was perfectly clean! Comfortable memory foam bed. There is Netflix, wii-fii, spa, sauna and a nice little souvenir corner. I will definitely return to this place. Stick on Route 138, perfect for a sleepover!
Perfect place to stay. Verry friendly.
That’s the place to stay when you are coming to the Tadoussac area. Lovely atmosphere with dedicated owner. The rooms are well put together with and elegant atmosphere. I highly recommend the Table d hôtes option!! Dinner was just amazing! Fresh, home made and so tasteful.
What a sense of joy, complete satisfaction, and gratefulness finding this cosy and chic B&B away from the crowds that clog the city of Tadousac. La Chouette Viree has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and amazing food (best homemade bread ever!!) that puts it in a category of its own ! The hosts, Philippe and Genevieve are very helpful, friendly and funny. Beds are comfortable, with very soft sheets and delightfully design touch. Our room had an amazing view on the cliff and the fields. Shared bathrooms, which are clean and fairly spacious were also very satisfactory. There’s lots of space to hang out and relax around the spa and sauna area : comfy nooks, chairs and sofas, hammock .The outdoor fire place where Philippe demonstrated it’s amazing historic knowledges about Quebec is a great spot to socialise. I recommend this B&B to everyone without hesitation. It’s excellent value for money !!
