Pie heaven and so much more. They had jams, lasagnas, waffles, cookies and zucchini bread or maybe it was pies cooking in the oven that made the place smell amazing. Fresh pies in every nook and cranny of this quaint little shop. I wish I could let you experience the incredible aroma that hits you as you walk in.
You'll want to buy everything but try the Mexican meat pie. Sensational and feels less heavy than a regular tourtier - which also delicious btw.
This is a must-go-to spot if you're in Bromont.
I go to Bromont monthly to visit my brother. Désirables is a pie store. That's the simple description of it. It's a cute little house, that smells like baked goods all day. They do traditional Québec fruit pies, apple, rhubarb, strawberry, blackberry, as well as pecan pies and maple syrup pies. Their specialty, in my eyes, is their cream pies, like key-lime on a Graham cracker crust, or banana cream pie. They don't make them daily, they seem to be on rotation.
These cream pies are nearly impossible to find in Québec, since these are pretty English/American pies. Both the key-lime and banana-cream pies were a massive hit with my family. I ALWAYS go when I stop by, the pies aren't cheap but that goes for worth as well as cost. Home-made, fresh and amazingly delicious. You can also get pets-de-sœurs (miam!) and other treats.
They also do quiches and tomato pies, lasagnas and other home-cooked meals. The Mexican pie is amazing. As is the chicken pot pie. Go for their deserts - but really buy as try as much as you can and you won't be disappointed.
Everything freezes well - to be enjoyed at a later date.
I am usually not a fan of berry pies but these ones are amazing! The maple sugar pies are just the right sweetness as well. We will be back to get some pumpkin pies for thanksgiving!
