(June 25, 2017, 6:53 am)The Lac L'achigan diner on the road of the lake by the same name is by far the best diner and restaurant in Saint-Hippolyte. Not that they have that much competition since as of 2015, there are only three other restaurants in operation, two of which change owners almost yearly.
This dinner is family-run so when you order your food at the counter, you'll be talking with the person who owns it, buys its food supplies and also cooks it. If it's not him, then its his wife or daughter, all of whom are extremely friendly. Everything there is made fresh and you can really taste it.
Just be aware, as most diners in the cottage country, they only accept cash.
