Amazing setup! Congratulations guys! Santé
Nice place tad far relative to where we can from but worth a go, especially when they have food trucks!
Went to the opening of this new brew house in Ste.Barbe and I'm torn with how to rate it.
I will start with the positive. The beer is excellent!!
I tried the sampler which included an IPA, a blond, a most impressive red, and a white.
The beer was really impressive, even more so because of the small start up nature of the brewery. Maybe if I knew a little more of their process and history I'd be even more impressed.
And that leads me to the negative part of the review.
Upon entering this well thought out bistro/bar we were greeted with....silence.
Similar to walking into Canadian Tire on a weekend, my presence was not even acknowledged by the staff. Giving them the benefit of the doubt because it was opening day we all brushed it off and went to the bar to see what was available.
We were told very flatly the types of beers and that samplers were available....that was it.
There was no warm greeting at the door, no passionate explanation of the different types of brews or flavors. There were no descriptions at all, passionate or not.
As an example of what I'm saying here, do yourself a favor and go to the Trois Lac distillery in Valleyfield and ask them about their product.
You will be told what they do and how they do it with enthusiasm. Pay for a tour like I did and after an hour you'll be trying to get them to stop talking!!!!
They know how to sell their product!!
I am willing to write my first impression off as being overwhelmed the first day although it was not crowded when we went.
They make truly great beer, I hope their marketing and presentation catches up.
Brand new brewpub out in the deep 450. First off, just pulling into the driveway, you can tell right away that no expense was spared here. You can see the brewing gear through giant windows right in front.
Decor is great, a nice mix of rustic and modern. Island bar, a fireplace, a lovely terrace and a huge backyard, hopefully they'll use it for a festival or something.
Not too many beers available on tap and in cans to go, they can barely keep up with demand. The beers we did try were excellent, classic styles, very well done.
Service was amazing, super friendly people who are clearly enjoying what they do. Like a lot of small town brewpubs, even though it looked as if everyone knew each other, they found a way to make you feel like you're a regular too.
Didn't get to try the food, they're still setting up I think.
I really enjoyed it here, and even if it's about an hour away from the city, I'll keep coming back here.
Très belle place a découvrir et de l’excellente bière... le staff hyper sympathique
