AXE Lounge Bar

Great atmosphere with live music! The food was great and the service was even better. Will definitely be back to enjoy other things on the menu. They also validate the parking so it’s a no brainer. Good food, good music, great value!

Had a great time at their hotel last week. All social distancing policies were enforced and the staff were fantastic. We had a couple of apps in the AXE lounge that we thoroughly enjoyed alone with their perseco and cab sauv. The Fairmont continues to do things right even during these pressing times.

Food/Drinks:
- Very big portion of salad fraicheur, very interesting and different flavor combination. The corn, grapefruit and pear tasted very nice crunchy and refreshing
- The lobster and fish was very filling. I loved the different take on the fries, cut into a hashtag chip design. The lobster was good, I think the way it was made took the flavor out of the meat
- The presentation for the lobster and fries was very cool. It was sitting on top of parchment paper that looked like it was a newspaper. Little touches like that are appreciated and what sets one restaurant apart from another
- The blackberry tom Collins could have used more juice and less ice so that the flavor was stronger but that’s a personal preference. They have an impressive bar. I loved that they used Tito’s in the drink as I don’t like to taste the alcohol, but I like to have it in my drinks! Nice and unique flavor, never had a drink like this before. I would definitely have it again

Other Comments:
- It seems like they always update their menus as I cannot find the lobster and chips on their online menu anymore. I like that you will always get to try something new
- Very nice a sophisticated vibe with loads of comfortable seating and a big screen tv for a bit of entertainment
- Service is great and the staff is outgoing and friendly (kudos to Jessen Pan!)
- It’s a nice place for a casual meeting or a semi-romantic dinner and drink

Great food and drinks, but unfortunately short-staffed. It's harder to get ahold of a waiter here than my first college boyfriend. Gladly, the waiters are at least much nicer than he was. A bit out of the way but I might come back after they hire some more people.

Slow service and understaffed. We watched three groups come and go without being served (or greeted). We ordered Moscow Mules and they were very watery (perhaps because the ice cubes melted due to the long wait)

Food menu doesn’t have any obvious appetizers. Nice location, but the service level and low attention to detail reflects very poorly on the hotel. Strange that they can’t get this right.
