Dan Cottages

Beautiful private location right on the river, four cottages available of varying sizes, a real hidden gem. Will definitely visit again

It's been several years that we go to Dan's cottages. The cottage we rent is always clean and well furnished. If you go un the winter, Dan makes a skating rink on the river and has sleds. If you go in the summer, you can swim in the river and do pedal boat. Dan has several boats and enough life jackets for every one. It's a beautiful place!

This place is excellent. While the photos at their website are accurate, it still does not do the place justice. The Relax cabin, in which we stayed for 2 days, is huge, gorgeous, & so quiet. They have all the stuff necessary to prepare meals. The whirlpool tub was great. Access to canoes & peddle boats with life vests is easy. The BBQ worked great, & having a fire pit with wood to split & use after dark is awesome. Unlike a hotel or motel, making reservations via email/snail mail & paying cash is a unusual to me, so make sure you have the money upon arrival. The couple who own the place are extremely friendly, & thankfully his command of English was much better than my poor lack of French (although my girlfriend is bilingual). I will definitely stay here again. Definitely.

We spent a week in one of the smaller chalets and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Honestly didn't want to leave. It's a charming little getaway that the kids will love.
Row boats, canoes and pedal boats are there for the using. There's a swimming area and life vests are provided. There are a few fish in the river as well...my daughter caught her 1st fish there! A little small mouth bass.
The chalets are located right beside the river and each is equipped with a fire pit. Each has a swing and an outside eating area. The playground has a lot to keep the kids entertained, but the main attraction was swimming in the river.

Of note: There are a couple of grocery stores within 15-20 minutes of the site. (St Jean de Matha & St. Alphonse de Rodriguez) The Tim's is in Matha,

Will definitely be going back!
