Wonderful accommodations for our group of 22. I appreciated the layout which afforded those looking for privacy their own space while still having space for everyone to spend time as a large group. The dining room was more than spacious for everyone to eat together and after supper we rearrange the tables to allow for smaller groups to play games, chat and hang out. While I do agree with other reviews that all 22 people could not have sat on a couch, they also would not have been able to interact if there were that many couches! We simply brought in some of the folding chairs and comfortably were able to have about 15 people in the living room with the fireplace.
The kitchen is also well laid out and we were able to have many people prepping food for large meals or making their own breakfast. The biggest downside to the kitchen is that there is no large pots/pans to accommodate cooking for such a large group - the ones provided were very nice and good quality, but quite small. We actually had to go out and purchase a large 5 gallon pot and some half baking sheets. Other places I've previously rented for large groups have had these more commercial sizes provided. The other annoying part of the kitchen was that the only bowls for eating were exceptionally small, they were closer to a dipping sauce bowl rather than for cereal, chili or soup.
The beds were extremely comfortable and the sheer number of bathrooms and showers made morning a breeze. The wonderful boot dryer in the basement was also greatly appreciated. The pool table only had a single broken cue, which was annoying but it wasn't a big deal. The spa was excellent and well enjoyed by all. I truly appreciated the conveniently located hose for adding water as this has been an issue in the past with other rentals.
The exceptionally large signs and instructions all over everything were definitely a source of comedy for us - but as the person organizing and trying to communicate information to everyone I found it made it much easier (and provided a great source for jokes).
I would highly recommend this cottage for large group - the whole process from booking to arrival to departure was seamless.
Update (Rented a second time): We rented Pierre's chalet again for our group of 20 - I just like to mention that over the last year there have been numerous upgrades. This includes the couches in the living room and better cooking tools for 20 people. We had yet again another wonderful experience and hope to rent again in the future, such a fantastic setup and location.
Beautiful place, great location.
Rooms are all quite large, nice grounds, owners ar3 helpful
Nice and cozy. A lot of space and room for kids to play and run. Very accomadating
Can't really ask for more in a cottage for groups, plenty of space for everyone and everything, nice and clean and pretty cheap for 20+ people. You'll forget it's a cottage in the kitchen (it's very nice) but feel cozy in the rather large living room with the fire place. The location is also quite nice, especially if you're an outdoors type. Would rent again if I had another group to get out of the city ! My only complaint would be the commercial dishwasher, it's so fast you can't really sit down in between loads haha.
