Poutine is served with lots of cheese and sauce but it is almost to much. The potatoes are excellent but the sauce à little salty you can taste the chicken broth at the end.

I too succumbed to temptation on Saturday afternoon by deciding to visit Cantine BB-LOO to taste their famous poutine that everyone has been talking about on Spotted St-Jean for several days. As soon as I walked through the door of the establishment, I was warmly greeted with smiles and greetings. The owner himself came to the counter to take my order, which added a personal touch to the experience. I ordered a regular medium poutine, but figured for my first taste at this place I'd have to go with the original to decide if it was delicious enough for me to venture into adding other toppings like ground beef or bacon.
The owner took me by surprise by asking: “With poutine gravy or brown gravy?” I was perplexed and told him that his question was entirely relevant, as the choice of sauce for my first visit was almost an existential decision.

Seeing that I couldn't decide, he didn't hesitate to take two wooden spoons, dip them in the two sauces available, then let me taste them. I was even more confused than when I originally asked the question because both sauces were delicious. In a fit of panic, I finally opted for the poutine sauce, telling myself that I would definitely have the opportunity to come back to try the brown sauce.
A few minutes later my order arrived, packaged in a brown paper bag. As I picked it up, I immediately realized that I had a medium-sized poutine in my hands, which was actually quite filling.

As I opened the lid, I felt the excitement a pirate must feel upon discovering a treasure chest full of riches. I've never seen so much cheese curds on poutine. Neither too big nor too small, the pieces of cheese were perfect, producing the characteristic "squwick squwick" sound. The amount of sauce was perfect, each fry was generously coated. Let's talk about the fries: they were slightly smaller in diameter than what we're used to, which turned out to be a nice positive surprise. In addition, they were not too fatty, thus avoiding that feeling of heaviness in the stomach after a few bites. Every bite was an explosion of flavors. Of course, it's just a poutine, but it's a damn good poutine. For connoisseurs, it easily rivals well-established places like Grégoire and Dan et Dave.

Also, while you're already there, I encourage you to visit the Ely Rose Confectionery, located right next door. If you want to support a young entrepreneur, just 15 years old, who has opened a candy, ice cream and slush shop, this is the perfect opportunity.

I am not big on hotdogs but the way they made it with so much care, made me change my mind, also Amazing poutine. A very gentle and kind couple runs this place.
