Second Cup Café

An excellent place to study, I go there every week. The owner is incredibly nice and friendly.

The coffee is good, employees are always courteous. There is always a confusion at the drive thru though, having to ask the rotisserie employees to be transferred to the coffee employee is awkward. But I can live with that. Today, something weird happened and it is a red flag for me. Before I can state my grievances I need to explain that all payments not in cash are processed by the barista, like, the employee take you card and you phone ( if you want the points) and walk out of line of sight to process the payment, I don't like that. But today, the barista ask me if I wanted to had a tip ( since I will miss the prompt on the payment terminal) I did not like that, some person are just to shy to refuse tipping after being directly ask, it feels like my arm have been twisted. On top of that, I accept to give 1$, but the employee took more, 1.04 to round out the invoice total number, I did not agreed to that and I feel like it should not have been done.

Massive power outage! Service was very slow but impeccable. They are not used to having so much people at once since opening. Poor guy was on his own until 10am, not expecting that big rush of people. They couldn't open drive through because of that.

Food was good and coffee excellent. Took the opportunity to charge my phone and work laptop while working. Little hiccup with heating (wasn't working and A/C was on so it was chilly!).
