orcaSound Hotel

I had read all previous reviews here on Google before arriving and was thus expecting mayhem, what I got instead was a clean, cozy room with fresh linen, super wifi service, neat bathroom and comfy bed. No kids running, no people shouting. The receptionist was friendly, helpful and waited for me to check in at 12 am. Definitely not Hilton but excellent deal!

Paid C$109/US$81 (plus tax) per night for a double queen-bed room. Probably should have been willing to spend a bit more. The carpets in the halls and room were visibly in need of vacuuming and maybe a deep cleaning. Two of the lights/lamps in the room had broken shades/switches. The breakfast was modest in its offerings; the cold cereal was tasty, healthy, and something not often found at hotels. The beds were comfortable and the linens clean. The fellow at the desk was helpful and pleasant even if harried from having to help the staffer clean our room at 9 pm so we could check in. The room had a jacuzzi-type tub in the bedroom area which we didn't have time to experience.
