The best, most capable and honest repair shop in the country!
My son recently went on a car trip near Montgumery Center, VT and heard a strange noise in the car. Luckily, he was near Lutz’s Automotive. I can’t praise Derek and the Lutz Automotive employees enough; Derek is so knowledgeable, honest, polite, and willing to take the time to explain a suggested course of action to get your car up and running again! We are from Massachusetts and many “auto repair” shops would view our situation as a way to make some “quick, easy money” buy replacing things that don’t need replacing (I have already experienced that kind of auto repair shop). Not so at Lutz’s Automotive – Derek was truthful, was not overpriced, and just a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Lutz’s Automotive for any kind of service your vehicle may need. Thank you again Derek, and everyone else at Lutz’s Automotive for the EXCELLENT, HONEST, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND POLITE SERVICE!!! Not many auto service shops like Lutz’s – wish you had a shop in Massachusetts!!
We have a family place in Montgomery and love everything about the town, including Lutz's. It's a family business, sometimes with three generations in the shop. The various branches of our family who visit most often have VWs, and they have the know how, diagnostic tools, and tech to fix them and any other cars. My aunt and uncle live in Boston but schedule all work here. They've also repaired our riding mower, gotten my car started on a bitter morning when the diesel in my tank had gelled, and have provided us with excellent driveway plowing service at a very reasonable cost. They provide detailed bills and explanations of work, and are also some of the nicest people around. I would recommend them for any automotive problems without hesitation.
My father drove from Nova Scotia to Jay Peak to ski with his grand children. While at the resort, his car's fan died. As we are not from Vermont, I asked around and everyone recommended Lutzs down in Montgomery. We called, and they said bring it down. The shop was not large, but clean and organized. They took the car in Wednesday around noon and by Wednesday evening had diagnosed the problem. The fan was drawing too much current and and fried the module. They ordered the parts, and had Dad up and running by Thursday closing time. They provided a detailed bill and offered the old parts back to my father. For a mechanic in a small town, they did an excellent job and were very knowledgeable. The fact that they could get replacement parts in less than 12 hours delivered is even better. We would recommend them as well. Thanks Derek. Now back to skiing and a return trip to Canada.
