A pleasant little park, tucked away in a cove. These are not the dunes of The Cape, far from it. They're not even obvious, tucked under underbrush and trees, protecting the wetlands behind.
But this is a sunny, sandy beach on Lake Champlain, not the usual rocky shore.
Always a beautiful beach. We liked it "wild" so the new amenities were a bit off-putting. Too much civilization. Still, we know that, ironically, much of it was needed to protect the environment, so we'll deal.
No whistles blowing every 5 minutes like Plattsburgh beach. Freedom to enter the water anywhere and use your own judgment about how far one can venture. They have now added changing rooms, improved parking and added a drop off zone.
Very great beach! The best Vermont has to offer. For a fresh water lake you can't beat this beach . I would feel comfortable saying it's one of the best fresh water beaches in the country
It's a bit out of the way for some, but nice area. Playground for the kids, cared for rest area and the beach was good too! I'll definitely come back with my family.
