Pear Point Farm

I wanted to find some Indian corn for my daughters season's garden corner and autumn home projects. Called David and scheduled some time to come by. Sent my daughter with her nanny-friend down to the patch. They had fabulous time! David treated them like family, gave them berries, pumpkins, watermelons and lots of corn of all possible colors! David let them hang out in the field afterwards and watch him operated his red tractor. And that Indian corn is the most beautiful!! We made corn husk dolls, milled some of the corn, and still have lots left for home decorations and season's basket garden corner for my daughter to remind her of that field trip. Very grateful for David's hospitality and time!!!

""On a sweet autumn day I had the pleasure of an end-of-the season visit at Pear Point Farm with my young friend, Assata. We had a magical visit with David, who was so warm and welcoming that I felt like family. This beautiful, young hillside farm, owned by David and his wife, overlooks the sea. You may have the gift of seeing orcas pass by while visiting! David took generous time from his farm chores to facilitate a hands-on learning experience for little Assata. She got to pick corn, gather corn husks for doll-making, harvest strawberries and gather cherry tomatoes. Beautiful blue and red corn grown this year will be selected to enhance corn crops for next year. Assata got to pick out her own pumpkin to take home! After purchasing our items, she and I sat together under the late afternoon sun, watching David tend to the fields on this tractor. We had such a nurturing visit under David’s hospitality, I invite you to stop by. The giant pumpkin patch he’s planning may be underway by then! Ran into David randomly and we got the most beautiful pumpkin! Looking forward to bringing my kiddo to the pumpkin patch next year. Love seeing more farms (and farmers) on the island.
