(July 9, 2018, 2:30 pm)We needed a place close to Hannegan Trailhead to spend the night before backpacking. Everywhere else had a two-night minimum, so this place was perfect. Check-in was very easy, we didn't even have to deal with anyone. The suite itself was very cool. We stayed in the "Glacier" suite, which was a large room with a bed and some pull-out sofas. The bathroom had a cool view of the forest. Everything was very clean. The views were awesome with the giant windows in the front of the room. The place felt very secluded. No problems getting up the driveway. Yeah, it is a dirt road, but it is well maintained. I'd take that over parts of route 32 headed up to Hannegan. The room also had Casino on DVD!
(June 18, 2018, 1:53 am)We were looking for a place to stay overnight and discovered this hidden gem of a place!
Bill welcomed us into his cabin, the cabin itself was taken care of so well, the furniture, collection of books, photos and Bill's personal memorabilia gave a unique vibe and soul to the cabin. It's unlike any other room, cabin or hotel I have ever stayed.
It's located in the perfect spot. Close to Mt. Baker and the surrounding areas but far away from all the touristy people.
Bill was very courteous, gave us a tour of his home and let us explore his airstrip and access the river beach.
It's a beautiful place, the access road is unpaved but any car can easily make it!
I highly recommend this cabin and we'll be back for sure ????
(November 20, 2017, 6:34 am)We wanted to book this cabin, but were hesitant because of the couple previous 1 star reviews that people left due to the road leading to the cabin being bad. My car is slightly lowered and I was worried that i wouldn't make it because one of the reviews said that a regular car cant make it and need a 4x4 or a tractor. We decided to take our chances and we are glad we did. I now think that the person who left that review has never been off pavement with his car. I made it up and down 4 times just fine, the stretch from the highway to the cabin is no more then 100m. Don't expect it to be a drive way to a 5 star hotel, but its nothing to be afraid of. As for the cabin, its exactly as you would expect from a cabin, it is nice and cozy and most importantly clean. The view is also spectacular. There is also tea, milk and some little snacks provided which is a nice touch. The cabin has no cellular reception and no wifi, the closest one is at a gas station. I wish the owners encouraged the guests to leave reviews online, such as here on Google and other places as there is a full book of positive reviews from guests, but its inside the cabin and only bad reviews get online which makes it look like its a bad place. It is a great cabin as you can see in the photos I am attaching here. Give it a try and don't forget to leave a positive review online if you enjoy it!
(November 14, 2017, 1:53 am)Fantastic weekend. Cozy cabin that was exactly what we were looking for. As a couple of introveted individuals who don't much care for socializing, the remoteness appealed to us. We stayed in the Glacier Suite. I would give 5 stars but it is a bit of a trek to get there. My car managed it fine in November with no snow but I imagine if it was late December to early March the snow could have been problematic. Once you get to the cabin itself, it is well worth it. Will definitely be back.
