“This hotel is good for workers in Drayton Valley. Rent a room here and get a meal voucher for the Sky lounge 1 per person. This is a perk fosho. Hotel is dated, the roof is leaking above the pool (pool is also closed), and the parking lot is slippery in the winter ( I fell and hit my head on the running board of my truck). When driving into town from Highway 22, just turn into tow by the 3 oil rig Derrick and follow the road until you see the "HO" on the side of the building. Can't miss it.”

“The early seating of the American Thanksgiving event at the new Gladstone location was stellar. The seasonal cocktail-a mix of scotch, pumpkin purée and other goodness-amazing! The chef created an interesting twist on the traditional turkey dinner, and was very receptive to offering a vegetarian option. American football was on TV and the ambiance was inviting enough. The owner stopped by every table to ensure we were all enjoying ourselves. I only wish this event was more effectively published and more Americans participated. We look forward to more special events at this lounge.”

“First time to visit Sésame. First impression with all the big plants they put outside was very nice. We where greeted very nicely and soon we took our tables outside. Cold water was served and our hostess for the evening explained if we needed some explanation for the menu and introduced herself. Looking at the menu we had the choice of the 5-7 special with a nice drink and 2 appetizers. Our hostess made sure everything was perfect en we enjoyed our Pokémon bowl and soon after we received our main dish. The ambiance was great and the interior looks amazing. We had a good evening enjoying our drinks food and service. For sure we are coming back. Thanks to the chef and nice service oriented team to make sure you enjoy your stay.”

“Great service and incredible views. The food from the children's menu was apparently good. The halibut was served cold (after about a 35 to 40 minute wait) as was a pasta dish. They were promptly replaced with hot dishes though which were good. The lobster blta was served with a toasted bun that was cold. Apparently that's how it is generally served but I don't understand why a bun would be toasted and then served cold. The drinks were excellent.”

“You are definitely paying for the location when staying at the property. I loved being able to get up before sunrise and walk to Lake Louise each morning. . Issues: my room was “double booked” and I was not notified of this until I was standing at the check in desk. I was given a smaller room with less beds and this was very inconvenient for our group of (4). I was not offered a discount or any thing else for the huge inconvenience. Only an insincere apology. It was 11pm at night and I was exhausted after driving all day, so I had to take what I could get. The hot tub was closed for maintenance and we were never put on notice. The ice machine never worked the whole time we were here. No elevators (however, I am understanding to the fact that it is an old lodge. So this wasn’t a huge issue). I was disappointed that there was no fridge in the room for our lunch items we were storing in a cooler. . The breakfast was good, but the flow is not set up very well and the food ran out quickly with long waits for refills. . Overall: I would stay here again just for the location, but I would come with very low expectations.”

“The braised short ribs were pretty good, tender, flavourful, side vegetables were plentiful. I would definitely order it again. The calamari was okay, they were small and had a lot of batter so it was more crispy calamari rather than the fried calamari you would expect to order in a restaurant (usually tender with a bit of crisp outside). The key lime pie was a disappointment. It was basically a glass full of whipped cream, barely a small teaspoon of graham crumbs and the lime taste was so light probably because there was so much cream. Our friend ordered the recommended chocolate cake and it was cold and tasted like store bought frozen cake. We asked about this and we were told that it was baked and delivered by a supplier. The key lime cream was done in-house, by the kitchen. The desserts could afford a change to bring it up to the level of the service, the interiors and some of the food. There is a huge window across the room with a spectacular view. It was worth going to eat in the restaurant just to get that openness. Service was good too. The design of the interiors is excellent, one of the better places in the area, I appreciated the way it was designed, much like a cozy, well appointed cottage.”

Old fashioned was average. Saw that they are charging $30 for..... Nachos. And an extra $10, if you want meat on them. Pretty wild pricing. Also saw so many dead little flies on the window sill beside us. Counted over 20. When we notice stuff like that you wonder how dirty other places in the restaurant are.”

The place was nearly full when we arrived, and it looked like the bartender came out from behind the bar to help the server get caught up because she was taking care of nearly the entire dining room. Despite this, she took care of us in a timely fashion, and provided us with excellent customer service. I had a cheeseburger and fries, and my wife had the chicken strips and fries. The fries were very, very tasty, and that burger was spot on! The chicken strips tasted like they came out of the freezer, but I liked them so I finished them. All in all, great meal, and I recommend!”

“This was our second year in a row visiting Rustica for our anniversary dinner. Last year we had a phenomenal night, this year, however, was a different story. In 2022, every staff member went above and beyond by wishing us a happy anniversary (there is an option through online booking to select an anniversary as the occasion), providing a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, our server when quizzed was very knowledgeable about the different types of steak and the food was fantastic. Sitting outside was a beautiful experience with the amazing view over the valley. Overall we were made to feel very special and all involved went above and beyond. Given this experience, we decided to come back this year to celebrate our special day once again. In 2023, the menu was smaller, not one staff member wished us a happy anniversary (despite booking the same way as last year), and our server stood behind us instead of in front of us which made it awkward to communicate. On top of this, we each ordered a $60 steak and although the flavor was good, the steak came out lukewarm (not cool enough to send back, but not great either). We decided to sit inside this year due to it being a little chilly, and although we had about the best view possible from inside the restaurant, there were a few details that could easily be taken care of. The table cloth had a hole in it, the chairs are outdated, there were several dead flies around, the windows are noticeably dirty. Overall, the experience in 2023 was not what we had come to expect from 2022. With a few alterations, we feel this could be back to what it was.”
