Went there with my wife today and spent more than an hour with amazing people who work there.
They offered us tea and shared their interesting story with us.
It was cozy as well as enjoyable experience, and it was just nice to be there.
By the way they have a some very good deals, so we left with four pair of shoes.
Looking forward to visit again.
Had a pair of beloved Zamberlan boots resoled by the family owned business and I was satisfied beyond anything with the craftsmanship of the repair.
I brought them home and compared boot to other boot and I would have thought it was a factory resole. Absolutely flawless!
I returned to the store to let the owner know my delight.
I used the boots all last summer into winter and I have to say the resole is better than the original factory sole. Thanks so much!
It is so good to have a proper cobbler in our town.
I first visited this business because the model of cycling shoes that I like using is shaped in such a way that the tongue always rolls off centre laterally which lets grit into the shoe and it becomes uncomfortable. It also means that the shoe will wear out more quickly due to the abrasion.
I asked the cobbler if it was possible to use an anchor stitch, on the medial side of the tongue, which would keep the tongue centred when the shoe was being worn.
They very cleverly used the existing stitch holes, on the upper, to introduce a short line (1 cm) of stitches that anchor the medial side of the tongue and stop it rolling laterally.
Sure it means taking an extra second when putting the shoe on one’s foot as only the lateral side opens now but that is a tiny consideration when one considers that they are now the perfect cycling shoe when on one’s foot. The additional sticking cannot be felt when wearing the shoe.
They took about two weeks (they are always busy) to finish the job which was right in line with their estimate which is always pleasing. And they charge a fair amount for the job.
So for $16 I have the perfect shoe with sewing quality that I could not manage to replicate.
Kumpfy have now done this mod to the three pairs of shoes that I own from this brand (it appears to be a cycling shoe design issue with this brand but everything else about the shoes are so good that I am happy to get this mod done myself)
My wife has also had this mod done to her favourite walking/ light hiking shoes so they have been upgraded from “excellent” to “perfect”.
Thanks as always to the excellent staff at Kumpfy and keep being awesome.
Kneed2Move Insoles @ Kumpfy Shoes - My feet started hurting, and the Dr. suggested I purchase insoles. I tried to shop locally, however, local prices were a lot higher. I found this Canadian store online, and placed an order. The service I received over the phone was excellent! He helped me order 3 pairs and gave me an approximate shipping timeline. I knew it would be a little bit longer than normal as they had to order in 2 more pairs for me. When I called to check on the status of my order they were very courteous and helpful. My order arrived shortly afterwards. Because of their excellent price on this product I was able to afford purchasing 3 pairs. Their price for 3 pairs plus shipping was equal to purchasing 2 pairs at a local store. So I am very pleased about that! After wearing the insoles my foot problems resolved. I had developed a bunion that no longer bothers me. I am very pleased with the insoles which are a lot cheaper than custom made ones. I found that they work equally well. And finally, I was very pleased with the customer service I received from the gentleman that I spoke to. I regret that his name escapes me. (Maybe Mike???) I don't regret shopping here!
