Island Plate

Amazing food, I got the mochiko pork and it was out of this world! The rice is delicious and the drinks are super fun and tasty! The full plate is very filling so you don't have to worry about still being hungry after your meal. Staff are all wonderful and there's typically a very short wait time for food when ordering. I would highly recommend anyone to come try the food here.

Came here to have a taste of Hawaii and enjoyed every bite. This is the closest taste to the islands I’ve had outside of being in Hawaii. Plenty of options of moist, flavourful proteins and perfect sides to complete the meal. My lunch was perfectly cooked and served piping hot. The in-house made sauces were a great addition to the crispy tater tots and I found the meat flavourful enough to not need them. The mixed lemonade helped cut down the overall heaviness. The owner Andy and staff were extremely friendly and receptive of feedback and customer enjoyment; try his shaokao spice mix! I would recommend this personable and fun spot for some good eats akin to soul food. I look forward to trying other items on the menu next time!

Island Plate serves Hawaiian staples like kalua pork, spam musubi and mochiko chicken. I decided to go with the mixed plate with mochiko chicken topped with huli huli bbq sauce and the kalua pork with the sweet garlic ginger soy sauce. The kalua pork was flavorful and paired well with the ginger soy. Meanwhile the huli huli sauce added a great sweet pineapple flavor to the chicken. I also got the dusk to dawn lemonade which wasn't overly sweet.

The owner Andy was so friendly and was checking on each table in the restaurant to see what they thought of the food. We also chatted about some potential items that may be added to the menu. There are more items like the bbq short ribs and the Loco Moco that I want to come back and try!

Stopped in for a late lunch today while running errands. I was promptly greeted and the staff were able to provide recommendations for the most popular items and drinks. The portions are generous at a good price point. I had a half order of the mochiko pork and a tropical lemonade and both were great! The owner was very friendly and came out to chat with me a bit towards the end of my meal. 5/5, will bring my family next time.

Discovered this spot recently and ordered a mixed plate of huli-huli chicken and sweet chilli ginger pork. Portion was massive for me and very flavourful. I haven’t had food like this since I was in Hawaii years ago so this was definitely a nostalgic experience. Highly recommend anyone who’s in the area to drop by this spot for some excellent Asian inspired eats!!
