Walked in with zero experience and horrendously unfit.
I was made feel very welcome by the friendly, patient coaches and students.
There’s a real team environment here with everyone wanting to help each other.
Almost a year later it’s become an obsession!
    Cannot recommend this club enough!!!

When I first walked through the doors at Dark Horse Martial Arts (when it was formerly BVJJ) I immediately felt at home. Everyone was so incredibly welcoming and helpful. No doubt, it is always intimidating beginning something so new and so out of your comfort zone. However, the atmosphere and vibe at the club is unmatched. I've never felt such a sense of belonging more than I do at the club. At one point, it was rare that I missed a single class. Needless to say, I'm so happy the club is open again and I can get back to having no life besides BJJ.

Can't find much better people than the fine folks at Bow Valley. Always a pleasure to train and compete with.

I walked into Bow Valley Jiu Jitsu a few months ago as a complete beginner. My friend Georgi was absolutely insistent I come try it out, and I - being in need of a new pursuit and challenge - decided to jump in.

I was greeted with smiles, welcoming words, and an atmosphere of safety, encouragement, and positivity. I left that first class immediately hooked.

Each and every single time I have come since then, that hasn't changed. Ever. The coaches and students all have the same friendly and team oriented attitude that fosters an incredibly addictive spirit of learning and improvement.

Every single time I go to class I learn something new, whether it's feedback from Travis, my classmates during sparring, or when someone wants use me as a guinea pig to try new submissions on.

Come out, say hi, learn some moves and maybe try a few rolls! Who knows, you might just find your new favourite thing! 😊

Great place to learn BJJ! The people here make all the difference, everyone from amazingly passionate coaches to all the teammates.

As a coach myself I trust this place and would highly recommend to anyone because how highly considered everyone is of safety and protective measures.

Only 4 stars because the space feels rather small at times, makes it for a cozy environment :)
