St. Augustine's Anglican Church

Address: 6110 Fulton Rd NW, Edmonton, AB T6A 3T3, Canada

Church

“St.Augustine's is a small community church in the Anglican tradition (Christian). There is a core group who have been praying together and learning the ways of Jesus for over 50 years and many who have joined with them along the way. The congregation loves the kids among them and knows that life is best shared together with many ages. They are a fun group, but are able to respond to sorrows with kindness. They are generous and caring, involved in social justice, and comfortable in the perceived gap between science and faith. St. Augustine's is not a 'loud' church, but many have found the community a real anchor in the twists and turns of life.”

St. Vladimir's Russian Orthodox Church

Address: 6824 128 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5C 1S7, Canada

Church

“St. Vladimir’s church is a great place to find refuge from your worldly troubles and spiritual temptations. The services are performed in the traditional Orthodox manner with English being the primary language (some Slavonic). The parish is made up of a wide range of ethnicities (Serbian, Russian, Ukrainian, Romanian, Irish, etc.) The parish members are extremely friendly and welcoming. The priest is very knowledgable and helpful with any questions you might have about the church or Orthodox theology in general. If you are looking for an Orthodox church in Edmonton that is full of caring people that are all unified in a desire for salvation, I would strongly recommend visiting St. Vladimir’s church. The Paschal and Nativity services are especially beautiful if you are able to attend them.”

“I was "iffy" at first with this church, i was never close or very strong with my faith, however, they were welcoming and open to answering my questions. I started to attend this church when they had a hard time finding a pastor. So, it was a lot of guess speakers which was good. overall, I'm glad i stuck around, i have met so many nice people of all cultures. the history behind this church is also amazing. it is filled with evangelical Christians and for some it's a place where their journey as a missionary began. truly a great experience. WE enjoy visitors! give it a try, look for me! and i know its overwhelming at first but don't worry. i was there as well.”

Church of the Holy City (Swedenborgian)

“There is a poster inside this Christian Church depicting about 20 other major religions and their symbols. It's a regular sized poster, nothing fancy. It's next to a picture of a bear sitting in a river looking funny, along with an inspirational quote. I've never been here on a Sunday for Church but based on these, and the general warmth of the rest of the posters in the basement room where I attend my narcotics anonymous meetings, I'd guess they are a laid back, loving Church.”
