Leaning Tree Trail Rides

I would highly recommend Leaning Tree Trail Rides! My daughter, her friend and myself had the most wonderful trail ride throughout the beautiful landscape nestled in the pines North of Westlock. Everything about this experience was wonderful, from the horses, to the other furry and friendly animals you have an opportunity to meet, to the owners and hosts themselves! Shawn and Amara are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming ~ wonderful people all around and I cannot wait to go back to visit with them and their beautiful horses. Such a positive experience!

Everything about this place is beautiful! From the scenery to the horses to the photography and the people that run it - all beautiful!

Amara was so responsive and accommodating while I waffled about trying to figure out when we could make it up there, and she went above and beyond to help me surprise my partner with his very first trail ride.

Both Shawn and Amara are so knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and professional that my partner didn't even seem to notice he had no idea what he was doing.

Shawn was very encouraging and relaxed about the whole thing while somehow also managing to seamlessly impart pertinent safety information (although he did quite clearly warn my partner to duck on the way out of the corral because of the bar over the gate, yet he somehow managed to bump his head on it anyway. Which, to be clear, is in no way a reflection of Shawn but sort of speaks volumes about how excited my partner was to be up on a horse for the first time)...

Their passion for horses (and love for all creatures great and small) is both apparent and heartwarming. It's - what is it the kids say these days? Wholesome? Anyways, the reverence they have for their horses is evidenced by the fact that each one is lovely and well mannered while still having personalities of their own.

Suffice to say we had a great time, and my partner was absolutely thrilled with his experience. We will definitely go back and highly recommend it!

Fantastic experience. Shaun and Amara are some of the nicest instructors you could ask for, and the animals were all very social and fun to interact with. I highly recommend having the extended visit to brush your horses after the ride, and see all the others they have.

Amara and Shawn were awesome! Our trail ride was a perfect way to celebrate my Mom's Birthday! Their special attention to everything ensured our ride was an experience we will all remember!

My friend and I went for a trail ride at Leaning Tree for the first time yesterday. Of course we were fortunate to go on a beautiful day!
The owners of this business were friendly, relaxed and made our experience very enjoyable and positive. After an initial brief explanation and practice of guiding their horses in a corral, we went for a lovely ride, mostly on trails through the woods. Their dogs accompanied us, for the joy of the trail and to give warning of wildlife if necessary. The horses seemed well-trained and intelligent, and both owners rode with us, and were very personable and positive.
We booked the slightly longer ride, with the opportunity to groom the horses afterwards,and meet the mini horses, donkeys, chickens and pig. It seems as though all the animals are well cared for and loved, and it was a beautiful, relaxing ride and day. The google directions getting there were clear, with a nice big sign marking the entryway. The drive out was pleasant and not too far from the city. We definitely enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this location for a nice outing.
