The Wooden Shoe

A great little gem of a storefront, and a great place to fill your tummy. We stopped in for lunch on our way back from camping at Gull Lake and enjoyed every moment.

The store has plenty of supplies for camping needs, and also has some specialty items, mainly of ditch origin. Sauces, mixes and unique condiments can be found here.

The restaurant portion is a little dated but still maintains its charm. Little interesting trinkets hung on the wall and a very cool clock.

The menu has a good selection of food at very reasonable prices. And the portions are very generous. The Dutch items were very tasty, as were the soups and sandwiches.

The staff were very friendly, and the facilities are well stocked and clean. There were a few critters flying around due to people forgetting to close the screen door to the outdoor patio however.

All in all a very enjoyable experience for our friends and family. A unique location, charming feel, great menu selection and well executed food is what this place is all about. The Wooden Shoe is definitely worth a visit!

Friendly service & simple, fresh, really yummy food. I was pleasantly surprised by the grilled chicken burger and a nice garden side salad for a lighter lunch. Nothing fancy, just well made. Would definitely recommend!

Delicious. Affordable. Good selection. Will be back. So good my ice cream was mostly gone before I got a photo.

Had excellent service. Staff was very knowledgeable about the flavors and generous with portions.
Didn't tip which we should have. Will be generous tip when we stop by again.
Worth the stop even if you aren't going for a dip.
