Could have used a little more sauce and cheese but my wife would have loved it. It was flavorful and hot (temp) but not so hot that it burned my mouth eating it. I'd like to try some other dishes here for sure. And decently priced.”

“After standing in Burger King and watching one guy on phone and another too busy printing receipts I left. Drove by Burger Queen. Local drive in with fresh made burgers. Even bun. Ordered double mushroom burger. No sauce. The service was prompt and food took a bit but well worth the wait as burger was cooked fresh. The 4 stars was because the meat was over cooked. Nice that the meat was a bit crunchy on outside but sure dried out the meat. Hopefully next time I stop it’s not so dry. Restaurant was very clean and friendly.”

“THE PRAIRIE GIRL Cessford We ended up for lunch here by accident after having no success at finding an open restaurant in Oyen. That was fortuitous! What a happy accident. The approach off of highway 876 left us a bit skeptical, as did the very small town and the gravel roads. But this quirky and (very) pink Quonset hut, with the typical flickering neon OPEN sign, is home to The Prairie Girl restaurant. The inside is a terrific surprise, too! Wooden tables, mismatched chairs, cute and kitschy decor, and more than just a touch of grandma’s kitchen. Don’t be fooled by the comfortable and casual air - what comes out of the kitchen purely professional. There’s a full bar, great variety of food on the menu and run by some very friendly folks. The lettuce wraps were the best I’ve ever had, no question. Made with pulled chicken (vs ground), plus peppers and cucumbers, and a few crunchy noodles, in a tasty peanut sauce. Husband had a club sandwich which he declared was excellent. And real, old-fashioned, hand cut French fries. I’d certainly like to give this place more than 5 stars. Well worth the slight detour”

“You are definitely paying for the location when staying at the property. I loved being able to get up before sunrise and walk to Lake Louise each morning. . Issues: my room was “double booked” and I was not notified of this until I was standing at the check in desk. I was given a smaller room with less beds and this was very inconvenient for our group of (4). I was not offered a discount or any thing else for the huge inconvenience. Only an insincere apology. It was 11pm at night and I was exhausted after driving all day, so I had to take what I could get. The hot tub was closed for maintenance and we were never put on notice. The ice machine never worked the whole time we were here. No elevators (however, I am understanding to the fact that it is an old lodge. So this wasn’t a huge issue). I was disappointed that there was no fridge in the room for our lunch items we were storing in a cooler. . The breakfast was good, but the flow is not set up very well and the food ran out quickly with long waits for refills. . Overall: I would stay here again just for the location, but I would come with very low expectations.”

The food was also great the my wife had the chicken penne, chicken was tender, pasta was cooked really nicely, the sauce was tasty and had yummy veggies. Overall she said it was very tasty which is high compliments coming from her. I had the Cheese Burger with spuds. The spuds were tender and cooked perfectly and had a delightful seasoning. The burger was an excellent size, had two full bacon strips, cheese, chopped lettuce, pickles,I asked for no tomato, an onion chutney with a BBQ sauce( a little thin for me but still delicious). For dessert we shared the American brownie. The brownie is served warm and comes covered in a chocolate sauce, a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a raspberry sauce with a couple fresh raspberries. It was fantastic!!! Please give this amazing small town restaurant a shot! The food and staff were amazing. Everything is made to order so it might take longer but it's more than worth the extra wait. Our whole dinner experience was an hour and 15 min max.”

When possible, if a customer orders a bottle of wine, please have a qualified server open the bottle at the table. In most dinning establishments this is the proper etiquette. The bottle we received was pre-opened and re-corked. The wine stain on the cork was very dry as was the cork. This left some doubt in my mind as to what I was paying for. It tasted fine and I didn't complain but going forward this would earn you a 5 star. Overall, you folks have a fine restaurant and our family enjoys eating there.”

“The girl who took our orders was nice but one worker in the back wasn’t wearing gloves while touching the dough, it would have been fine except I saw him touch his hair and then the dough right after and that made me a bit uncomfortable.Besides that the food was great, and good enough prices (for waterton) they have multiple options and they all looked amazing. They have great seating and a supper cute atmosphere, I would definitely go back but hoping to see them wear gloves or just wash their hands after touching their hair.”

“First gas station and convenience store located just off the highway as you enter Drayton Valley......driving from Edmonton. Staff is friendly and the washrooms are clean. Note that both are single person washrooms. They have a good selection of hot and cold food, beverages, snacks, etc. Yes, they have coffee and sandwiches. Gas was surprisingly well priced considering it's right off the highway. They have a car wash; however we never used it. Their lot is big with ample parking, and the gas pump roof is high enough for camping trailers. We stopped here on our way back home as well.”
